Dance Program History

Since 1978, our vision of developing a love of music and dance in children continues to flourish. More than 10,000 children have performed in the dance programs presented by Action Day Primary Plus's Dance & Performing Arts Studio. The performances of these children have delighted countless audiences at annual shows presented at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts. Currently, dance instructors and students are preparing for our production of "Snow White"—coming to the stage in June 2014!

West Valley Dance Cats

West Valley Dance Cats

The West Valley Dance Cats & Co are comprised of several teams by age, gender, and level. The Dance Cats are a performance and competition team comprised of dancers in 2nd-8th grade. The Junior Team (2nd-4th) is based at our Primary Plus Elementary School and our Upper Team (5th-8th) is based at our West Valley Middle School.

There is also a Dance Kitten Team for dancers ages 4-6, which is invite-only. Your dancer must be enrolled in an ADPP dance class to be considered for the following year's team. We began with roughly 20 dancers and have doubled that over the past two years. The Dance Kittens are a performance-based team with a small group of competitive dancers.

As of fall 2013, we have also introduced an all-boys dance team: the Tom Cats! They are also a performance-based team with a small group of comeptitive dancers.

We begin enrolling in August for the upcoming dance season.
